“We’re always looking for ways to solve big challenges for our clients,” said Mark Danos, vice president of project services. “In this case, our materials management experience and our facility’s tax-free status give us the opportunity to support a major project like this one.”
Danos’ materials management services include short and long-term storage, central receiving, surplus management, procurement, vessel moorage and account management. The Amelia complex features 367.5 acres of secured space, including more than 800 000 ft2 of covered area, and waterfront access.
The Amelia complex will receive construction materials from around the world and act as a storage house, managing components until needed. Though the facility site is landlocked, its riverfront location is reachable from Louisiana via inland waterways. Main construction is expected to begin by the end of this year.
