"We are pleased that we could reach an agreement that was fair for both sides. While the agreement is still tentative pending ratification by the membership we are encouraged by Unifor's support for the agreement," said Le Dressay.
While the negotiations went down to the eleventh hour, the two sides continued to work diligently to bridge the gap.
"I'm very proud of the commitment and skill shown by the bargaining committees," said Doherty. "They worked very hard to find common ground."
A ratification vote will take place Monday 3 April 2017. The local bargaining unit, Unifor 594, will be recommending ratification of the agreement.
